The Red Beanbag Cafe

After seeing some of the pics posted by my friends on Facebook, I was wondering is the place really as good as the pictures? So I've decided to try this place out today.
Simple deco at the restaurants. Nice ambience.
Well, it seems like a trend now that most restaurants does not have photo on their food menu. This may be quite inconvenient  for those who are not very much English literate (like my parents) or those who tend to be more visual to order food from the menu.

After spending a few minutes reading on the menu, I've decided to refer to some of the photos posted by other bloggers to make my life easier in choosing my meal :)

Finally we have chosen the salmon steak and tiger prawn pasta for our lunch. The first dish is called Sumo. It is basically pan grilled salmon served on a fried potato patti served with poached egg and baby spinach with anchovies dressing. Overall, I rate this 9/10 for its presentation and 8/10 for the taste. The salmon was nicely grilled and to my surprise, the baby spinach tasted really nice too. The portion is not too big, but I can't really finish the potato rosti.

Since I am a big fan of prawns and scallops, I have chosen The Crustacean for my other half. The sauce is so full of seafood flavor, you can taste the sweetness of the prawn in the sauce. The tiger prawns were not as big as I expected but the scallop was huge and fresh! The pasta was a little overcooked for me so I rated this dish 7/10.

If you spell "stressed" backward, ta-da... it's "Desserts"! This is certainly the best way to distress. I've ended up choosing this Nutella Millie Crepe to end our lovely lunch. This is really yummy. It has a little bitterness, not too sweet and creamy like those millie crepe from Nadeje. The layer of eggs were not too thick and really smooth. If you are not a fan of millie crepe, you may also try out their Tiramisu or Cheesecake.

If you are thinking of dropping by, please do come early. The place was full house today and we had to wait for about 15mins to be seated. So if you do not like waiting, do come early!
